Job Title: IT Business Analyst - Release Manager
Duration: 6 months
Location: Richmond, VA 23219 Initially 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, transitioning to 100% onsite from September.

Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Release or change management experience
- Familiarity with at least one of the following project management/service management tools: Jira, Rally, ServiceNow, or Remedy
- Nice to Have
- ITIL certification
- Agile experience
Communications:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, creativity, attention to detail (compliance), and negotiation skills to interpret results, develop communications and recommend improvements.
- Able to present information within all settings in a credible, confident and influential manner. Communicates in a concise, direct and purposeful way.
- Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated ability to interact with anticipated audiences in a courteous, service-oriented manner
- Risk Management: Responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision making, and contributing to his or her function’s risk management.
Decision Making:
- Works independently on broad assignments or under general directions as to scope or objectives.
- Makes decisions within established or widely accepted standards.
- Achieves assigned/planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, training, business principles, and practical experience.
- Working Conditions: Will require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
- Hours of Work: May require extended work hours. Occasional travel including overnight stays may be necessary
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/Master's Degree may be preferred with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
- Denotes essential duties and/or any physical requirements required to perform essential duties for the role.
Responsibilities:
- Develops conceptual, logical and physical IT engineering designs, that support the infrastructure requirements of varying levels of technical and business application projects.
- Completes analysis of business requirements, as it relates to technical infrastructure design, and ensures traceability of the design to the business requirements. Assesses testing requirements and prepares testing strategies, as well as preparing implementation and transition plans.
- Experienced level position requires developing career in field and gaining knowledge of industry practices.
- Requires moderate levels of experience and proficiency in field.
- Performs resolution of complex hardware and problems affecting application systems. Initiates problem avoidance actions.
- Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Analyzes and revises existing system logic and documentation as necessary
- Recommends solutions to minimize and/or prevent system interruption
- Performs change and problem management using standard tools following client change management policies and procedures for software/hardware propagation to other platforms and/or environments.
- May indirectly lead moderately complex projects and participate on technical/complex projects.
- Provides project updates and prepares management reports as required
- Utilizes available tools for automation of manual processes.
- Follows and ensures adherence to technical standards for programming and design techniques.
- Trains computer operations and System technical staff on use of software /hardware tools in accordance with required standards and procedures. Contributes to development and revision of department standards and procedures.
- Assists with monitoring compliance with internal audit requirements and Information Security Manual guide-lines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
