Phlebotomist II - Float
Location: Miami, FL, 33176
Duration: 3 Months +
Shift: M-F 5:30am-2:30pm. Alternating Saturdays 6:30am-10:30am.
Overview:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is responsible for collecting quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and providing excellent patient care. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, professionalism, and the ability to create a safe, supportive environment for patients. PSR IIs may work in physician offices, patient service centers, or float across multiple sites as business needs require.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, geriatric, and forensic specimen collections with accuracy and safety.

Verify patient demographics, signatures, and labeling to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures.

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and chain-of-custody forms.

Provide exceptional customer service by building trust and explaining procedures clearly.

Ensure a clean, safe, and professional environment in compliance with company policies.

Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in high-volume settings.

Float between multiple sites as scheduled, arriving on time and prepared for assigned shifts.

Adhere to confidentiality standards, company policies, dress code, and safety guidelines.
Job Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.

Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).

Experience: Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience (pediatric, geriatric, and capillary required). Patient Service Center experience preferred.

Excellent venipuncture and specimen handling skills.

Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficient in keyboarding/data entry.
