Pay rate:- $31/hr - $40/hr on W2
Responsibilities
- Promote and model safe behaviors, encouraging peers, partners, and team members to do the same.
- Interpret and apply safety and health standards, manufacturer requirements, policies, and regulatory programs.
- Participate in project reviews to identify safety improvements and ensure sustainable and efficient safety procedures.
- Assess safety performance at client locations, including islands and shipside activities, through audits, incident history analysis, and data review.
- Observe and analyze the client’s business culture to identify opportunities for improving safety outcomes for guests and crew.
- Address challenges in implementing effective safety measures and integrate safety plans into internal processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and client subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop, update, and modify safety documentation.
- Assist in developing and implementing compliance-related processes and procedures aligned with internal and external safety standards.
- Support the design and execution of training, assessments, and audits for safety-critical processes related to client operations and shipside activities.
- Review and evaluate the Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to leadership and client stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or Public Health.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety or public health management.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to identify safety trends and implement improvements.
- Ability to work occasional second and third shifts or off-site as needed.
- Strong consultative and influencing skills with demonstrated flexibility in dynamic environments.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Advanced degree in Occupational Safety or Public Health.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
- Experience with the Performance Alignment model.
- Prior experience in the cruise line industry.
- Familiarity with maritime safety standards (IMO, CLIA).
- Proficiency in Safety Management Systems (SMS) used in cruise operations.
- Hybrid work schedule: Onsite Monday – Thursday, remote on Friday (subject to change).
- Travel requirement: Approximately 25%.
