Duration: 5+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Thursday – Sunday | 6:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Training: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (2 weeks)
Travel:
- Must live within 20–25 minutes of worksite.
- Must have reliable personal transportation.
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care during routine and diagnostic blood collection. This role is responsible for collecting highquality blood specimens, accurately preparing samples for laboratory testing, and maintaining a professional, safe, and customerfocused environment.
The PSR II interacts closely with patients, ensuring comfort, trust, and confidence throughout the collection process. The role requires strong phlebotomy skills, adherence to established procedures, and the ability to work independently while representing the company with professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection:
- Perform clinical and forensic blood collection following established procedures.
- Draw quality blood samples, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Create a positive, professional environment that instills patient trust and comfort.
- Explain procedures clearly and ensure patient understanding.
- Verify patient demographics, initials, and signatures postcollection to confirm correct labeling.
Operational Excellence:
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Prepare, label, and process specimens according to laboratory requirements.
- Maintain required documentation and records with accuracy and confidentiality.
Customer Service & Team Collaboration:
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.
- Communicate openly and effectively with peers, supervisors, and patients.
- Provide exceptional customer service in a fastpaced, highvolume environment.
- Support multiple locations as needed, sometimes with minimal notice.
Job Requirements
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Ability to deliver errorfree work with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Must demonstrate excellent customer focus and adaptability to change.
Scheduling & Attendance Requirements:
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and multiple locations.
- Must be punctual and able to stay for the full scheduled shift.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
Transportation:
- Must have reliable, personal transportation (rideshare/bus does not qualify).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, if applicable.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training – Preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification – Preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA).
Work Experience:
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center – Preferred.
- Prior customer service experience (retail or service industry) – Highly preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
