Job Title: Radiology Tech 
Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Duration: April 28, 2025 – August 30, 2025
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Schedule: 5 Days Per Week, 40 Hours Per Week, 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend. Required to work holidays if scheduled. On-call as needed.

Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision and performs all essential generic job functions as listed below.

• Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, providing immobilization devices, and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs. Operates equipment as required for specific procedures.

• Restricts radiation beam through cone and collimating devices to avoid unnecessary exposure.

• Performs portable x-ray exams in patient rooms, OR, and ER.

• Identifies patient films with name and x-ray number, correctly marking films.

• Develops exposed x-ray film by standard processing methods.

• Completes patient requisitions with initials, date, and film details.

• Maintains an orderly x-ray room as directed.

• Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists physicians during procedures.

• Handles administrative duties such as scheduling, instructing patients, film filing, record maintenance, and reception.

• Assists patients with movement, positioning, and support as needed.

• Lifts at least 5 lbs., pushes/pulls at least 10 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours/day.

• Adjusts care based on patient population (age, culture, sensory needs, etc.), communicating at appropriate developmental and literacy levels.

• Adheres to the standards outlined in the Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.

  • Completion of clinical and A.R.R.T. requirements.

• Licensure & Certifications:

  • Must possess New Jersey State License.

  • Must meet requirements for the National Registry and pass the examination.

• Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care facility.

  • Must be able to work independently in emergency rooms and with trauma patients.

  • Must have operating room (OR) experience.

  • Experience with portable radiography and pediatric patients required.
