Job Title: Phlebotomist I

Location: Danbury, CT 06810
Duration: 4+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Range: $17.00 – $21.00 per hour




Job Summary

The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, representing the company with professionalism, compassion, and accuracy. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality. The PSR I plays a critical role in supporting patient care and delivering a positive healthcare experience.




Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily phlebotomy activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations

  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures

  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence

  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information

  • Ensure compliance with safety, confidentiality, and quality standards

  • Create a welcoming and professional environment that builds patient trust and confidence

  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and a commitment to process excellence

  • Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public




Job Requirements

  • Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision

  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required




Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
    (Certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington)




Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required

  • One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred

  • Previous customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred

  • Strong keyboarding and data entry skills required

  • IOP phlebotomist experience preferred
