Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Danbury, CT 06810
Duration: 4+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Range: $17.00 – $21.00 per hour
Job Summary
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, representing the company with professionalism, compassion, and accuracy. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality. The PSR I plays a critical role in supporting patient care and delivering a positive healthcare experience.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily phlebotomy activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor

Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information

Ensure compliance with safety, confidentiality, and quality standards

Create a welcoming and professional environment that builds patient trust and confidence

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and a commitment to process excellence

Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public
Job Requirements

Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections

Excellent customer service and communication skills
-
Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required
Education Requirements
-
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred
(Certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Experience Requirements
-
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required
-
One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred
-
Previous customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
-
Strong keyboarding and data entry skills required
-
IOP phlebotomist experience preferred
