Shift: 9:00 am - 6:00pm M-F

Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as a key representative of our organization, directly engaging with patients who visit for routine care or critical diagnostic services. The PSR II is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing, in accordance with established protocols and procedures. This role requires direct patient interaction and the ability to foster trust and comfort while clearly explaining procedures and ensuring safe, skillful, and accurate specimen collection.

The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership behaviors, maintains strict confidentiality, and upholds the highest standards of accuracy and patient care. Assignments may include working in a physician’s office, a Patient Service Center, or other locations as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily tasks accurately and on schedule under the supervision of the area supervisor.

  • Ensure a professional and safe environment for patients and team members.

  • Confidently carry out both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing in line with standard operating procedures.

  • Verify patient identity and demographics, ensuring correct labeling of specimens in the patient’s presence, including obtaining signatures post-venipuncture.

  • Accurately maintain documentation and required records.

  • Promote a positive organizational image through professional interactions with patients, clients, staff, and the public.


Requirements:

  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.

  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime, as needed.

  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures, including dress code, health and safety standards, and guiding principles.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making based on established procedures.

  • Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (public transport or rideshare not considered reliable for this role).

  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours to support multiple locations, sometimes on short notice.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

  • Strong customer focus with excellent communication skills and adaptability to change.

  • Understanding of the healthcare business environment is a plus.


Training:
Training location may vary depending on trainer availability.


Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).


Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
