ENTRY Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Entry Phlebotomist I
Location: Plantation, FL
Duration: 3+ Months (with possibility of extension)
Shift Timings:
- Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Mandatory Saturday Rotation: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Job Summary:
The Entry Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the welcoming face of the organization, providing compassionate and professional support to patients during their visits. This front-of-house role includes greeting patients, assisting with check-ins, maintaining the waiting area, and learning phlebotomy skills to support clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and assist with check-in using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address patient questions with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming waiting area.
- Support other phlebotomists during breaks and downtime.
- Learn and perform phlebotomy procedures (forensic and clinical specimen collection) once trained.
- Ensure accurate documentation and uphold patient confidentiality.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.
Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- 1–2 years of client-facing customer service experience (e.g., retail, home health aide)
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency
- Prior phlebotomy experience not required
Skills:
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and perform phlebotomy procedures
- Ability to handle patients with care and compassion
- Dependable and punctual with reliable transportation (rideshare/bus not accepted)
Additional Information:
- Candidates must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the worksite.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
- This is an entry-level role with training provided in phlebotomy. Candidates must be willing to learn and perform phlebotomy duties.
