Specimen Technician - 3rd Shift
Job Title: Specimen Technician - 3rd Shift
Location: Greensboro, NC 27410
Duration: 5 Months of contract (temp to hire)
Shift/Time: Mon - Fri 3rd Shift 10:00pm - 3:00 am- EST (part time)
Pay Rate: $19.78/Hr. on W2
Job Summary:
The SPT I is responsible for general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department. This includes specimen handling, data entry, and other processing tasks to ensure timely and accurate laboratory operations. This position is critical to maintaining quality standards and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform general specimen processing tasks including A-station duties, presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, imaging/microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting.

Complete all functions with confidence, accuracy, and timeliness.

Learn and understand specimen types and client test requirements.

Adhere to compliance regulations, which may change daily.

Maintain productivity and quality standards in a production environment.

Enter data at a rate of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.

Follow safety protocols in a biohazard environment.

Sit or stand for extended periods as required.

Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.

Keep work area clean and organized.

Demonstrate interpersonal skills and adaptability to change.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Basic understanding of computers. Preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and/or specimen processing.
Experience:
No prior experience required. Previous laboratory or hospital lab experience is preferred. Medical background or knowledge of medical terminology is a plus. Experience in a production environment is advantageous.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Work in a biohazard environment. Sit or stand for long periods. Perform repetitive data entry tasks.
