Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is responsible for collecting blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures. This role involves direct patient interaction, ensuring a professional and comfortable environment while performing safe and accurate specimen collection. The PSR II verifies patient information, labels samples correctly, and maintains proper documentation. The position requires strong attention to accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect blood specimens using venipuncture and capillary techniques (including pediatric and geriatric patients).

• Prepare and process specimens according to standard procedures.

• Verify patient information and ensure proper labeling of specimens.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation.

• Provide professional and friendly patient service while maintaining a safe work environment.

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).

• Medical assistant, paramedic, or related medical training (preferred).

• Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in some states).

• 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric and geriatric collections.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Basic computer and data entry skills.
