Contracts: 4 Months
Pay: $ 34.95/hr
NOTE: Position located at the Client San Diego, CA location. (Not Rahway, NJ).
Job Description:
The Logistics Clerk is responsible for supporting inventory transactions for the movement, storage, and documentation of materials across the supply chain. This role ensures accurate sales order fulfillment processing, inventory control, shipping/receiving activities, and timely communication with internal teams and external carriers to meet operational targets and maintain compliance with company policies.
Key responsibilities
Process inbound and outbound shipments, including verifying packing lists, and any related shipping documents.
Monitor shipment status across multiple channels, input data into company systems, and generate reports on goods movements or carrier performance.
Receive and record incoming goods; update inventory records in the companys enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
When needed, pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to packing standards and carrier requirements.
Schedule carrier pickups and coordinate freight movements with third-party carriers and internal stakeholders.
Generate and maintain accurate shipping documentation (bill of lading, commercial invoices, customs paperwork where applicable).
Monitor inventory levels; perform cycle counts and coordinate physical inventories as needed and directed.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records; prepare variance reports.
Communicate proactively with procurement, sales, and rancher success teams to ensure timely sales order fulfillment and issue resolution.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and suggesting corrective actions.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized area; comply with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
12 years of experience in logistics preferred.
Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerBI); experience with ERP systems, Oracle NetSuite preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs as required.
Preferred qualifications
Familiarity with basic inventory control principles and shipping regulations.
Prior experience coordinating with freight carriers and preparing export/import documentation.
