Duration: 6-month W2 contract with high possibility of extension based on performance and business needs

Position responsibilities and Product:
Works under limited supervision assisting R&D engineers, scientists, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.
The work to be performed:
- Test Method Development
- Test Method Validations
- Tool Qualifications
- Design Verification Testing
- Assemble prototypes/products per design plan.
- Troubleshoot and suggest creative solutions to process and design issues.
- Test prototypes per engineering instructions and document test results.
- Use internal and qualified vendors to assist engineering teams to obtain supplies and services.
- Communicate assignment status to project engineers.
- Perform basic statistical analysis of results.
- Train others on new product processes and procedures.
- Support calibration and maintenance programs for R&D Test Equipment.
Quality System Requirements:
- In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
- We’re looking for candidates that are capable of working independently using Protocols and the various Test Methods prescribed by them, following some limited training.
- We don't want to see those who have experience performing repetitive tasks in a production environment. This job may change from day to day.
Qualifications
- HS diploma/GED required.
- AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 1+ year of related experience.
- Instruments that will be used ---and preferred experience
- Instron Universal Test Systems – Tensile and Compression
- Force Gauges
- Torque Gauges
- Pressure Testing Equipment (Meters/Transducers)
- Torsion Testing
- Laser Fiber Testing – Power Efficiency, Beam Profiling
- Multi meters
- Oscillo Products
- Smart Products
- Vision Systems
Additional Job Specific Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Solid knowledge of the job. Applies broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices and a general understanding of general technical concepts and practices and a general understanding of product or systems fundamentals.
Cognitive Skills:
- Performs routine and some non-routine technical assignments using standard methods and sequences. Performs set-up, testing, repair, inspection, and/or maintenance of all area-specific equipment materials, systems and/or project. Assignment requires limited judgment in troubleshooting proven processes.
Supervision Received
- Close to moderate supervision. Received general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
Consequence of Errors
- Errors may be detected and corrected but may cause moderate loss of time or customer/user dissatisfaction.
Contacts
- Contacts are typically with individuals within own department and occasionally with contact outside own organization. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring some expectation or interpretation.
