The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the credentialing and re-credentialing process for providers, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and institutional standards.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Credentialing Specialist to join our team at a hospital facility in Pompton Plains, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the credentialing and re-credentialing process for providers, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and institutional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce regulatory compliance and quality assurance in credentialing processes.
- Process applications for initial credentialing and reappointments (approx. 125 200 per quarter).
- Verify and maintain provider information, including education, training, licensure, and certifications.
- Maintain accurate and current data in the Echo database (or CredentialStream, if applicable).
- Prepare reports and documentation for Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee (MEC), and Board of Trustees meetings.
- Schedule, attend, and take minutes for site-based medical staff department meetings as needed.
- Track license and certification expirations for all providers.
- Collect and process dues for site-based medical staff.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all provider records.
- Maintain compliance with medical staff Bylaws related to credentialing.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of credentialing experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of the provider credentialing process and regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience with Echo or CredentialStream is highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other credentialing software systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Additional Information:
- This is an onsite role; remote work is not available.
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive provider data.
