Job Description: ENTRY Phlebotomist I
Location: Pinecrest, FL
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Position Overview
The ENTRY Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive and compassionate experience from the moment they arrive. This role focuses heavily on customer service, lobby management, patient support, and learning foundational phlebotomy skills to grow within the organization.
This position is ideal for candidates who are committed to beginning a career in phlebotomy. While no prior phlebotomy experience is required, a willingness to learn is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and provide assistance with questions, concerns, or checkin procedures.
- Support lobby operations, including keeping the waiting area clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Assist patients with checkins via selfservice kiosks or handheld tablets.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with empathy, professionalism, and clarity.
- Provide coverage and assistance during breaks when phlebotomists are unavailable.
- Participate in phlebotomy training during downtime to develop clinical skills.
- Once trained, perform accurate and safe clinical and forensic specimen collection.
- Maintain proper documentation, logs, and patient records.
- Follow established procedures to ensure safety, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Complete daily assigned tasks accurately, timely, and under supervision of the area supervisor.
Job Requirements
Skills & Competencies
- Strong ability to engage with patients using care, compassion, and professionalism.
- Ability to multitask and navigate digital tools for patient checkins.
- High level of customer service skills — this is the core of the role.
- Willingness to learn phlebotomy and perform blood collection tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and recordkeeping skills.
- Reliable transportation (bus, Uber, Lyft, and rideshare services not acceptable).
- Must maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, and fullshift availability.
- Must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the site.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
Work Experience
-
1–2 years of clientfacing customer service experience — REQUIRED
(Retail, Home Health Aide, Hospitality, Front Office, etc.) - No prior phlebotomy experience required.
- Keyboarding/data entry experience required.
Additional Job Details
- This is a Front of House role with phlebotomy training built into the position.
- Candidates not willing to learn or perform phlebotomy should not apply.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
- Candidates must attend all scheduled shifts and remain through shift completion.
- Ensure commute time is verified before submission; candidates must be within the required range.
