Job Location: Meriden, CT 06450
Job Duration: 12 Months (possibility of extension)
Payrate: $32 - $37/ hr. on w2

Job Summary:

  • The Planner is responsible for supporting production planning activities for client semi-finished and finished goods as well as membrane manufacturing work centers, including casting, drying, and taping operations.
  • This role works closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure customer orders are planned, built, and delivered on time while maintaining healthy inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide production planning support for make-to-order finished goods and kanban-driven semi-finished goods.
  • Plan and monitor production orders to support key performance indicators including Backlog, OTIF (On-Time In-Full), and Inventory.
  • Track, communicate, and follow through on production expedites, ensuring priority orders move efficiently through the manufacturing floor.
  • Monitor order builds to ensure they are completed timely and not left underbuilt or stalled in the system.
  • Identify finished goods overbuilds and proactively apply available inventory to open customer orders.
  • Support membrane production work centers (casting, drying, taping) by monitoring production readiness and material flow.
  • Maintain accurate planning data and updates within the ERP system.
  • Analyze demand, production status, and inventory data using Excel and standard planning reports.
  • Prepare and share planning updates with Manufacturing and Supply Chain partners.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve planning issues, shortages, or schedule conflicts.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to planning accuracy, execution, and inventory management.
  • Follow applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, basic formulas, filtering, pivot tables preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to changing production needs.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Engineering, or other STEM discipline.
  • Previous experience or internships in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain.
  • Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc..).
  • Interest in production planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain analytics.
