Job Summary:
- This role involves oversight for projects occurring at the power station to ensure environmental compliance during construction, project development, and compliance with document retention.
- This role will work directly with project managers, construction managers, engineers, consultants, construction teams, peer Environmental Compliance Coordinators, Client permit support group, and contactors to understand and communicate requirements of any applicable permit, regulatory, or client expectation for the projects.
- Ensure project compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
- Conduct site inspections and communicate observations.
- Request remediation strategies.
- Provide oversight and education to project management team and contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain and maintain site specific Nuclear access and badging.
- Conduct and document daily project walkdowns.
- Provide technical Environmental support to project leads for all applicable media (water, air, waste, chemical, oil, wildlife).
- Review project plans and Product of work to ensure Environmental requirements are met.
- Attending meetings to provide environmental input.
- Review environmental compliance documentation.
- Examples include SWPPP books, inspections, manifests, certifications, sample reports, procedures, etc.
- Submit project updates to Client leads.
- Ensure required permits are obtained prior to work beginning.
- Verify and coach to ensure applicable permits, construction sequencing, and conditions are followed.
- Maintaining records for environmental compliance to include but is not limited to waste disposal, sampling results, inspection reports, training/certifications, etc.
- Communicate required environmental updates to the station environmental professionals.
Education:
-
Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Certification Required:
- DOT training.
- Responsible Land Disturber.
- Va DEQ Stormwater and E&S inspector.
Certification Preferred:
-
RCRA training.
Preferred Years of Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of directly related experience.
- Previous industrial plant experience.
- Power plant, Nuclear, Environmental Compliance, Chemical or Manufacturing Plants.
Must Haves:
- MUST have experience with start to finish remediation strategies including oversight and education to PM teams and contractors.
- MUST have prior experience with VA DEQ Stormwater and E&S Inspections.
- MUST have prior hands on experience with end to end permitting process.
- Communication, Multi-tasking, and Organized record keeper.
Soft skills:
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
