Job Title: X-Ray Technologist
Location:

Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Pay Rate: $62/hour negotiable (**Per-diem rates are also applicable for qualified candidates)
Schedule:
  • Work Week: 5 days/week
  • Hours Per Day: 7.5 hours
  • Total Weekly Hours: 37.5
  • Shift Availability Required:
    • Weekdays: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM
    • Weekends: Saturday & Sunday, 8:45 AM – 5:30 PM
    • Note: Must have open availability for scheduling within these hours
Role Overview:
The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing radiologic and magnetic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of patient conditions. This role includes patient preparation, equipment operation, and adherence to safety standards to ensure both quality and compliance in a clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures; explain processes and alleviate patient anxiety
  • Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, ensuring accurate imaging and safety
  • Practice radiation safety through proper shielding and beam restriction techniques
  • Maintain image quality by adhering to technical standards and making necessary adjustments
  • Chart exams and procedures in patient and departmental records accurately
  • Perform equipment checks and preventive maintenance; troubleshoot and request repairs as needed
  • Monitor and manage radiology supply inventory
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe work environment
  • Complete annual age-specific competency evaluations
  • Stay current with professional standards through CME, workshops, and ongoing training
  • Support the department as needed with additional duties
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education:
    • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
    • Associate Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • New York State License (L.R.T.)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification
    • Temporary permit under NYS Public Health Law (if applicable)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years in a diagnostic imaging role preferred
    • 6 months to 1-year related experience/training acceptable
  • Skills:
    • Strong competency in diagnostic procedures
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
    • Focus on safety, quality, and dependability
    • Ability to maintain a professional, patient-centered environment
