Job Title: Credentialing Specialist

Duration: 3+ months W2 contract with high possibility of extension based on performance and business needs
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM EST
Pay Range: $30 to $35/Hour on W2
Job Overview:
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and managing all aspects of the credentialing process for physicians and allied health professionals. This includes initial credentialing, reappointments, data maintenance, and committee meeting preparation.

Job Overview:
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and managing all aspects of the credentialing process for physicians and allied health professionals. This includes initial credentialing, reappointments, data maintenance, and committee meeting preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce regulatory compliance and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on credentialing activities, including accreditation, membership, and facility privileges.
- Ensure all processed applications meet legal, federal, and state regulations.
- Manage credentialing processes for initial applicants and reappointments (approximately 125–200 quarterly).
- Collect, verify, and process a large volume of accreditation and verification documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider information in the Echo database (education, licensure, training, etc.).
- Prepare materials for Credentialing Committee meetings, MEC, and Board of Trustees.
- Set up and maintain provider profiles in the Echo or online credentialing system.
- Monitor and track expiration dates for licenses and certifications.
- Ensure all processes are compliant with site-specific medical staff bylaws.
- Schedule and, as needed, attend and take minutes for site-based medical staff department meetings.
- Process and collect dues for medical staff.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all provider information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of provider credentialing experience required.
- Experience with Echo or Credential Stream is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the credentialing process.
- Ability to research, analyze, and manage large volumes of data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities; capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in computer systems and databases.
