Hours/Week: 15.00 | Hours/Day: 7.50 | Days/Week: 2
Pay Rate: $64/hour negotiable (**Per-diem rates are also applicable for qualified candidates)

Role Overview:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures in a hospital setting. This role requires the use of specialized equipment and technical judgment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. The technologist also plays a critical role in patient education and safety, ensuring all procedures are performed in compliance with departmental protocols and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform MRI imaging procedures and ensure diagnostic quality.
  • Properly position patients and coils to optimize image capture.
  • Educate patients about procedures, imaging areas, and instructions.
  • Review safety questionnaires before patients enter the MRI room.
  • Label and evaluate MRI images per SOP and transmit to PACS timely.
  • Complete all studies in the IDX Radiology Information System.
  • Maintain cleanliness of MRI room and equipment before/after shifts.
  • Scan and archive patient-related documents as required.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of necessary supplies and accessories.
  • Schedule exams and accurately record patient data in IDX.
  • Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Assist physicians during procedures as needed.
  • Support clerical tasks in absence of administrative staff.
  • Adhere to safety standards to avoid ferromagnetic exposure risks.
  • Follow infection control protocols to ensure patient/staff safety.
  • Attend professional development and in-service training.
  • Maintain licensure and compliance with relevant public health codes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required Education & Certifications:
  • Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T.-approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • NY State License in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • A.R.R.T. MRI Certification.
  • BCLS Certification.
Required Experience & Skills:
  • Minimum 2 years’ MRI experience in a hospital setting.
  • Proficient in cross-sectional anatomy, MRI physics, and technical procedures.
Preferred:
  • Additional MRI experience beyond 2 years is a plus.
