Position Overview:
This role is responsible for purchasing all materials used in the kitting operation and will ensure material availability to meet forecasted requirements while maintaining targeted inventory levels. This role will manage the day-to-day communication with suppliers and support supplier ramp up plans to ensure material availability for critical NPI launches.

Position Overview:
This role is responsible for purchasing all materials used in the kitting operation and will ensure material availability to meet forecasted requirements while maintaining targeted inventory levels. This role will manage the day-to-day communication with suppliers and support supplier ramp up plans to ensure material availability for critical NPI launches.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all purchasing policies and procedures.
- Lead all aspects of purchase order management including PO placement, supplier confirmations, expediting and escalating assurance of supply issues when needed.
- Manage the day-to-day communication with suppliers including regular supplier calls, developing detailed shipment plans and monitoring delivery dates to ensure plans are being met.
- Place internal orders and ensure inventory is shipped and received at international distribution centers in a timely manner.
- Create purchase requisitions for non-inventory items as needed.
- Work together with AP to resolve all invoice issues.
- Support quality and distribution teams to disposition non-conforming material in a timely manner.
- Daily collaboration with cross-functional partners such as receiving, logistics, inspection and distribution teams.
- Monitor MRP output and action accordingly.
- Review and update purchasing parameters in SAP as required.
- Update runout sheets as required.
- Support ad-hoc requests as required.
Education and Experience:
- BS Degree in Supply Chain, Business or equivalent knowledge / experience preferred (BS is not Required)
- 5+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred
- Experience with purchasing for an FDA regulated medical company preferred
- Experience w ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- In-depth understanding of supply chain including inventory control, MRP, demand and supply chain planning
- Ability to multi-task and thrive working in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while promptly escalating areas of concern as needed
- Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
