Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Rotational Saturdays: 6:00 AM–10:30 AM EST




Job Description

The Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional service to patients visiting for routine health assessments or critical diagnostic needs. This role is responsible for collecting highquality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures to ensure accuracy, safety, and patient confidentiality.

The PSR II interacts directly with patients and must create an environment of trust, professionalism, and comfort. This position requires advanced phlebotomy skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a highvolume setting. Assignments may include working in a physician’s office, patient service center, or other designated locations based on operational needs.




Key Responsibilities



Specimen Collection & Processing

  • Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection safely and confidently following all established procedures.
  • Draw highquality blood samples from diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Verify patient demographics, initials, and signatures after venipuncture to ensure specimen labeling accuracy.
  • Prepare collected specimens for laboratory testing.


Patient Experience & Professionalism

  • Provide excellent customer service, maintaining professionalism and sensitivity with every patient interaction.
  • Communicate procedures clearly to patients to foster comfort and confidence.
  • Promote a positive company image with patients, clients, coworkers, and the general public.


Operational Excellence

  • Perform daily operational tasks accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Uphold all safety standards and maintain a clean, professional work environment.
  • Adapt to business needs, including working weekends, holidays, oncall shifts, and overtime as required.
  • Travel to multiple locations as needed, sometimes with minimal notice.



Job Requirements



Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong phlebotomy abilities, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Ability to deliver accurate, errorfree work in a fastpaced, highvolume environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Comfortable with change and committed to continuous improvement.


Logistics & Attendance

  • Must have reliable transportation (personal vehicle required; rideshare/bus not acceptable).
  • Must be punctual, able to work full scheduled shifts, and maintain excellent attendance.
  • Candidates must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the worksite.



Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
  • Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic — Preferred
  • Phlebotomy Certification — Preferred (REQUIRED in CA, NV, WA)



Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections — REQUIRED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center — Preferred
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments — Preferred
  • Keyboarding and data entry experience required.



Additional Information

  • Training location may vary based on trainer availability.
  • Must list home city and commute time on the resume.
  • Pay rate is determined based on years of direct, nonoverlapping experience.
  • Excessive tardiness or absenteeism will result in termination.
