Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week (8 hours/day)
Hourly rate: $21/hour on W2 (Negotiable)

The Medical Office Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support to physicians and surgeons, contributing to high-quality patient care. The role involves direct patient care assistance, medical procedures, and office tasks using electronic and manual systems.

Role Overview:
The Medical Office Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support to physicians and surgeons, contributing to high-quality patient care. The role involves direct patient care assistance, medical procedures, and office tasks using electronic and manual systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support:
- Assist with patient care: escorting, dressing, transferring, collecting specimens, and point-of-care testing.
- Perform venipuncture, EKGs, and assist with medical procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, relay physician instructions to patients and families.
- Prepare exam rooms and medical instruments following sterilization protocols.
- Monitor logs for medications, crash carts, sterilization, and testing.
- Check and dispose of expired medications and supplies in compliance with policy.
- Handle patient scheduling, registration, and updates to demographic/insurance info.
- Maintain and manage patient medical records (manual and EMR-based).
- Process prescription refills and enter orders into EMR for physician review.
- Coordinate referrals, surgeries, pre-certifications, and consent forms.
- Perform clerical tasks such as managing forms, reports, and patient communications.
- Order and restock medical supplies as needed.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as a medical assistant; phlebotomy experience desirable.
- Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant from an approved school.
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; EMR systems familiarity.
- Soft Skills: Effective communication, especially in a multicultural environment.
