Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist
Location: Bridgeport, CT
Duration: 3 months (possible extension or Temp-to-Hire)
Shift Schedule: Mon, Wed, Thur: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Tue: 8:30AM–5:00PM, Fri: 8:00AM–1:00PM
Pay Range: $20-$21/hr
Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to serve as the Patient Services Representative I (PSR I). This role involves drawing high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and providing excellent patient care by creating a trusting and professional environment. The PSR I will perform both forensic and clinical specimen collections while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Draw blood samples accurately from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients.

Prepare specimens following established protocols for lab testing.

Explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and confidence.

Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.

Follow safety procedures to maintain a clean and professional workspace.

Perform daily tasks efficiently under supervisor guidance.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Demonstrate leadership qualities by focusing on process excellence and positive patient interactions.
Qualifications:
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Phlebotomy certification required.
Experience:

Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required.
-
1+ years preferred.

Customer service experience in retail or healthcare settings preferred.

Keyboard and data entry skills required.
Skills:
-
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
