Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)
Location: Commack NY
Duration: 3 Months
Shift/Time Zone:A Schedule 8-4pm. B schedule 9-4pm Sat 7-12pm
Pay Range: $18.20/hr - $20/hr on W2
Overview:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, delivering compassionate and professional service during routine health visits and critical health decisions. The PSR I is responsible for skillfully drawing blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing, adhering to established protocols to ensure safety, accuracy, and patient comfort. This role fosters trust and confidence by effectively communicating procedures and demonstrating a commitment to confidentiality and quality.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily tasks accurately and within designated timeframes under the supervision of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times.

Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing in accordance with established guidelines.

Maintain thorough and accurate records and documentation.

Exhibit leadership behaviors and a commitment to process excellence.

Promote a positive and professional image to patients, clients, colleagues, and the public.
Job Requirements:
-
Deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.

Exhibit flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.

Proficient in using straight needles and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Education & Certification:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred (mandatory for California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience:
-
Minimum of 6 months relevant experience required.

One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
-
Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.

Strong keyboarding and data entry skills required.
