Job Description: Phlebotomist I
Location: Miami, FL
Duration: 5+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Rotational Saturday: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Position Overview
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) is the frontline representative of the organization, providing highquality patient care and performing accurate blood collection for diagnostic testing. This role involves direct patient interaction and requires professionalism, accuracy, and strong communication skills. The Phlebotomist I ensures a positive patient experience by maintaining a safe environment and demonstrating confidence in specimen collection procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients professionally and maintain an atmosphere of trust and comfort.
- Collect quality blood samples from patients (including pediatric and geriatric) using established techniques.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing, adhering to all safety and procedural standards.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, ensuring a safe and positive experience.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection with accuracy and compliance.
- Accurately maintain logs, records, and required documentation.
- Complete assigned daily tasks accurately and on time under supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Uphold confidentiality and handle patient information with precision and care.
- Exhibit organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and coworkers.
- Remain flexible and available for staffing needs including weekends, holidays, oncall duties, and overtime.
Job Requirements
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to provide accurate, errorfree work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume setting.
- Must have reliable transportation (rideshare/Uber/bus are not accepted).
- Must be punctual, stay for the full scheduled shift, and maintain excellent attendance.
- Candidate must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the physical worksite.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail/service environment preferred.
- Keyboarding/data entry experience required.

- Pay rate is determined by verified years of direct experience (overlapping roles cannot be counted twice).
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will lead to termination.
