Job Title: PSC Greeter / Receptionist
Job Location: Rockville Centre, NY
Duration: 1-2 months
Shift: Mon - Fri 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20/hr. on W2 – All inclusive.
Summary:
The PSC Front Office Representative is responsible for performing all front office duties within the Patient Service Center (PSC). This includes but is not limited to: providing excellent customer service, performing accurate data entry, processing insurance billing and payments, resolving issues, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and ordering office supplies. The position may provide support at multiple locations and could be cross-trained as a PSR I to assist during high-volume periods.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Support patients with kiosk sign-in and verify accuracy of entered information.
- Contact clients to obtain or verify patient orders.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries.
- Read, understand, and comply with all departmental policies, protocols, and procedures (e.g., Procedure Manual, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual).
- Perform basic clerical duties, such as filing, faxing, mail preparation, and data entry.
- Demonstrate commitment to organizational values and mission.
- Adhere to departmental and company attendance and conduct policies.
- Answer telephones professionally using the company name, self-identification, and a helpful tone.
- Follow established protocols for reporting customer complaints.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times.
- Complete all required training and certifications.
- Assist with ordering and stocking of office supplies.
- Complete special projects or additional duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Required Work Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience.
Preferred Work Experience: Experience with keyboarding, data entry, and use of a personal computer (PC).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Prolonged standing and/or sitting.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 15 pounds for short durations.
- Frequent talking, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, and twisting.
- Requires strong visual attention to detail.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Medical terminology knowledge helpful but not required.
- Must be flexible and available for variable scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to speak clearly and interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Capable of making independent decisions using established procedures and sound judgment.
- Must be able to use an iPad and related applications efficiently.
