Job Title: Receiving & PO Compliance Clerk
Location: Linden, NJ
Duration: 2 months, possible extension
Pay: $25 hourly
Job Description:
Position Summary:
- The Receiving & PO Compliance Clerk is responsible for ensuring purchase orders (POs) arrive on time and in full (OTIF) in accordance with supplier agreements and production needs.
- This role actively monitors inbound deliveries, validates quantities and dates, and records any deviations in a centralized database to support accurate inventory planning, supplier performance tracking, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Call all vendors with a PO coming in in the next 10 days to ensure delivery On Time In Full expectations, escalate to procurement team where there are risks or deviations
- Monitor all open purchase orders daily to ensure expected delivery dates and quantities are aligned with requirements.
- Compare actual deliveries aProductst PO commitments to confirm on-time and in-full (OTIF) performance.
- Identify and document shortages, late deliveries, overages, and other discrepancies in a central database or tracking system.
- Communicate PO issues promptly to procurement, planning, and warehouse teams for corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of supplier deviations, supporting monthly reporting and supplier scorecards.
- Collaborate with receiving teams to validate bill of lading, packing lists, and PO details at time of receipt.
- Escalate critical shortages or delays that may impact production or customer orders.
- Assist in process improvements to enhance PO accuracy, receiving workflows, and supplier performance visibility.
- Support audits, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in supply chain or business preferred.
- Experience in receiving, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain operations strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Deacom, Oracle) a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to interpret POs, packing lists, shipment documents, and basic supply chain terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
