Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Location: North Bergen, NJ 07047
Duration: 3 Months+ assignment. Days and flexible schedule; no weekends, no holidays, no on-call, no float.
Pay Range: $55- $60/hr. on W2
Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day.
Job Summary:
- Performing procedures and exams as per department standards.
- Completing clerical tasks via EPIC, Tele tracking, and other systems.
- Performing portable ultrasound exams.
- Assisting with biopsy and deep abdominal studies.
- Preparing patients and equipment for diagnostic procedures.
- Evaluating image quality and maintaining ultrasound records.
- Providing technical assistance to students and staff.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment and supplies.
- Participating in on-call assignments and adhering to medical center standards.
Technical Skills Required:
- Proficient in breast ultrasound techniques, including Doppler and scanning protocols for various breast presentations (e.g., dense breasts, implants, masses).
- High-quality image acquisition and optimization.
- Knowledge of breast anatomy and pathology.
- Ultrasound equipment operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with PACS for image archiving and retrieval.
- Assisting with ultrasound-guided breast interventions (biopsies, aspirations).
- Participation in quality control and assurance programs.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Must be able to perform CPR.
- Knowledge of all ultrasound equipment, including function and control operation.
- Understanding of equipment, service procedures and computer systems.
- Strong grasp of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
- Familiarity with safety, infection, and disaster policies and procedures.
- Maintains CEU credit.
Education Required:
- Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School.
- 2 years training in Allied Health/College.
Licensure & Certifications:
- R.D.M.S. registered
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- BLS-AHA
