Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: North Miami Beach, FL
Duration: 5+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM; Every other Saturday, 6:30 AM–10:30 AM
Job Overview:
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the face of the organization, interacting directly with patients to collect quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and compassion, ensuring patients feel confident and comfortable throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws including pediatric and geriatric collections using various techniques and tools.
- Prepare and process specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation while ensuring patient confidentiality.
- Create a safe, clean, and professional environment in compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff, explaining procedures and building trust.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence in daily tasks.
- Support forensic and clinical specimen collection duties confidently and reliably.
- Be flexible and available for weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime shifts as needed.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required); Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA).
- Experience: Minimum 6 months required; 1+ year preferred.
- Skills: Strong phlebotomy skills, especially with pediatric and geriatric patients; data entry proficiency; customer service experience preferred.
Additional Details:
- Candidates must reside within a 20–25 minute commute of the worksite.
- Reliable transportation is required (rideshare/bus not accepted).
- Punctuality and full shift attendance are mandatory; excessive tardiness or absenteeism may result in termination.
- Resume must include home city and commute time to jobsite.
