Phlebotomy - Phlebotomist II - Float
Job Title: Phlebotomist II – Float
Location: Bonita Springs, FL
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Saturday: 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m.
Job Summary
The Phlebotomist II – Float (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the frontline representative for patients seeking routine or diagnostic laboratory testing. This role is responsible for performing highquality blood collection, preparing specimens for laboratory analysis, and maintaining a professional and reassuring environment for all patients. The PSR II must demonstrate strong phlebotomy expertise, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work confidently across multiple assigned locations.
This is a floating position, requiring daily travel between various sites based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection
- Perform highquality venipuncture and capillary collections, including pediatric and geriatric draws.
- Explain procedures to patients clearly, ensuring comfort, trust, and cooperation.
- Collect, label, and verify specimens following strict identification and safety protocols.
- Validate patient demographics, initials, and signatures postcollection to confirm accuracy.
Operational Duties
- Execute daily tasks accurately and on time under the supervision of the Area Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment in all assigned locations.
- Perform both forensic and clinical specimen processing following established procedures.
- Maintain all required logs, documentation, and records with precision.
Customer Service & Professionalism
- Promote a positive and professional image to patients, clients, team members, and the public.
- Demonstrate strong leadership behaviors, processexcellence skills, and sensitivity to patient confidentiality.
- Communicate openly, professionally, and transparently with supervisors, colleagues, and patients.
Float Responsibilities
- Travel between multiple sites daily and report on time to each assigned location.
- Maintain a clean driving record and provide reliable personal transportation (rideshare/bus not acceptable).
- Submit approved mileage reimbursement only between sites, not from home.
- Provide flexible coverage with minimal notice as business needs dictate.
Job Requirements

Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training — Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification — Preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA)
Experience Requirements

1–3 years of phlebotomy experience — REQUIRED
(Must include pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections) - 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment — Preferred
- Customer service experience in retail or service industry — Strongly preferred
- Keyboarding/data entry proficiency required
Additional Requirements
- Reliable personal transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to travel between sites on short notice.
- Must be able to remain on shift for entire scheduled hours.
- Excessive tardiness or absenteeism is grounds for termination.
- Training location may vary depending on availability.
