Job Description:
Patient Services Representative II (PSR II)
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients seeking routine healthcare services or guidance on critical, life-defining health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
This role requires direct patient interaction and the ability to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence. The PSR II explains procedures clearly and performs blood draws in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and a strong commitment to patient confidentiality and data accuracy.
Successful candidates may be assigned to a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations as dictated by business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing with confidence, following established procedures

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm specimens were labeled in the patient’s presence and accurately

Maintain required records and documentation

Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, employees, and the general public

Demonstrate organizational commitment and professionalism at all times
Job Requirements

Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections

Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime

Commitment to all company policies and procedures, including dress code, employee health and safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles

Ability to make sound decisions using established procedures and good judgment

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)

Willingness to travel and work flexible hours at multiple locations with minimal notice

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment

Demonstrated superior customer focus, strong communication skills, adaptability to change, and understanding of business operations
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Education Requirements
-
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED – no exceptions)
-
Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Work Experience Requirements
-
2–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred

Keyboarding and data entry experience required
