- Medical Assistant certification issued by one of the following certifying organizations:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- National Health career Association (NHA)
Required Skills & Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a high-touch customer service or patient-facing role in a healthcare setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, and feedback-driven multi-disciplinary teams
- Proven track record of persisting through change, demonstrating a forward-thinking perspective under pressure, and consistently stepping up to take action on challenges
- Proficiency in computer technology (e.g., typing, navigating the internet, working with new mobile smartphone applications, using multiple software systems simultaneously)
Job Summary:
- Provide technical support to patients, assist them with the registration process, answer patient questions in person and over the phone, including outreach to patients
- Train local teams on the registration process and support transition of technology systems
- Occasional travel to other office locations to support training events
- Capture relevant information about the patient’s health and healthcare experience while rooming patients, taking vitals, administering point-of-care testing, and performing standard age and condition-appropriate screening assessments
- Assist with the coordination of post-visit care by scheduling appointments with specialists, coordinating referrals, and sharing information to the patient’s internal and external care team
- Collaborate with providers to monitor the health of a panel of patients and determine if they are up to date on preventive measures
- Participate in the daily operations of a primary care practice, such as answering incoming phone calls, responding to emails, assisting with front desk inquiries, and ensuring the general upkeep of the clinical space
- Assist in providing patient education on chronic disease management and coach patients using an action-planning model based on motivational interviewing techniques
- Provide anticipatory preventive guidance to families with children by establishing healing relationships with members and families
