Role Overview:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) draws blood samples and prepares them for lab testing. This role requires direct interaction with patients and ensures that specimens are collected in a safe, skillful, and accurate manner. PSR II candidates will demonstrate leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence while maintaining patient confidentiality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:

Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing.

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.

Verify patient demographic information and ensure accurate labeling of specimens.

Maintain required records and documentation.
-
Create a safe, professional, and trustworthy environment for patients.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Travel to multiple locations and cover at Patient Service Centers/In-Office Phlebotomy locations as needed.

Exercise good judgment and follow established procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
-
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Certifications: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Experience:
-
3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

Customer service experience preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience required.

Skills:
-
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Reliable transportation, valid driver s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Strong customer focus and communication skills.
-
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
