Role Overview:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) draws blood samples and prepares them for lab testing. This role requires direct interaction with patients and ensures that specimens are collected in a safe, skillful, and accurate manner. PSR II candidates will demonstrate leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence while maintaining patient confidentiality and accuracy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing.

  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.

  • Verify patient demographic information and ensure accurate labeling of specimens.

  • Maintain required records and documentation.

  • Create a safe, professional, and trustworthy environment for patients.

  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

  • Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

  • Travel to multiple locations and cover at Patient Service Centers/In-Office Phlebotomy locations as needed.

  • Exercise good judgment and follow established procedures.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

  • Certifications: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

  • Experience:

    • 3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

    • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

    • Customer service experience preferred.

    • Keyboard/data entry experience required.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

    • Reliable transportation, valid driver s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

    • Strong customer focus and communication skills.

    • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must list home city/commute time to job site on resume. Rate is based on years of direct experience listed in the resume.

  • Candidates must demonstrate superior customer service and adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Travel and flexible hours required to work at multiple locations.
