The PSR II serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing high-quality phlebotomy services and specimen processing. This position emphasizes patient trust, safety, and comfort while ensuring accurate labeling, documentation, and adherence to established protocols. Employees may be assigned to doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or as business needs dictate.

Role Overview:

This position emphasizes patient trust, safety, and comfort while ensuring accurate labeling, documentation, and adherence to established protocols. Employees may be assigned to doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or as business needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw quality blood samples from patients (pediatric, geriatric, capillary collections) and prepare specimens for lab testing.
- Verify patient demographic information and tube labeling; obtain patient initials/signatures post-venipuncture.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient data.
- Follow established procedures for both clinical and forensic specimen collection.
- Provide superior customer service and maintain a professional, safe environment.
- Travel between locations as needed and cover multiple sites on short notice.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and confidentiality.
- Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting, exercising good judgment and discretion.
- Adhere to company policies, dress code, and safety guidelines.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
- Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- 1–3 years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment highly preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
- Flexibility for travel, multiple locations, weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
