Phlebotomist II - 1st Shift
Duration: 3months
Location: Butler NJ
Shift: Mon - Fri 6:30am to 2pm
Pay Rate - $21.80/hr on W2
Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the frontline representative to patients, providing high-quality service and care. The PSR II performs skilled phlebotomy procedures, prepares specimens for lab testing, and ensures accurate documentation while maintaining a safe and professional environment. This role requires a high level of patient interaction, organizational commitment, and adherence to confidentiality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection

Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection (venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, and geriatric).

Explain procedures and build trust and confidence with patients.

Accurately label specimens in presence of the patient and confirm patient identification.

Ensure quality and error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Administrative & Technical Duties

Maintain required documentation and records.

Perform data entry and patient verification processes.

Follow established procedures and guidelines for specimen handling and safety.

Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Workplace Conduct

Uphold company policies, including dress code, safety guidelines, and performance principles.

Promote a positive image to patients, peers, clients, and the public.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and adaptability to change.
Requirements
Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Preferred: Medical assistant or paramedic training.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
Experience
-
Minimum 5+ years phlebotomy experience required.

Inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
-
Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center preferred.

Customer service experience in retail or healthcare environment preferred.

Keyboarding and data entry proficiency required.
Skills & Abilities

Excellent phlebotomy skills across all age groups.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong organizational skills; capable of managing multiple priorities.

Superior customer service and communication skills.

Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Willingness to travel and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
