Job Title: MRI Technologist
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Days: 2-3 days per week, possible weekends
Hours: 24 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
Duration: 8 weeks
Location: New York, NY
Pay Rate: $71/hour negotiable (**Per-diem rates are also applicable for qualified candidates)
Role Overview:
Operate and prepare specialized MRI equipment to perform high-quality magnetic imaging procedures. Apply technical judgment to ensure diagnostic-quality imaging according to established protocols and patient needs.

Role Overview:
Operate and prepare specialized MRI equipment to perform high-quality magnetic imaging procedures. Apply technical judgment to ensure diagnostic-quality imaging according to established protocols and patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI imaging procedures and position patients and coils for optimal imaging.
- Educate patients about procedures, addressing nature, imaging area, and instructions.
- Review patient safety questionnaires before MRI scans.
- Label MRI images following departmental SOP and evaluate for technical quality.
- Ensure timely transmission of images to PACS and documentation in the Radiology Information System (IDX).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of MRI rooms and equipment, including linen management.
- Scan and manage patient-related documents and maintain necessary supplies.
- Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
- Assist physicians directly as needed and call in-patients for exams.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols to prevent ferromagnetic materials in the MRI environment.
- Follow infection control policies to protect self, patients, and staff.
- Attending required professional development and in-service training.
- Maintain licensure and certifications in compliance with public health regulations.
- Perform related clerical duties in absence of support personnel.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education & Certification:
- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved Radiologic Technology program.
- NY State License in Diagnostic Radiology.
- A.R.R.T. MRI registry certification.
- BCLS certification.
- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, MRI physics, and physiology.
- Preferred: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in MRI.
- Excellent technical proficiency in MRI procedures.
- Ability to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging.
- Patient-centered communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities.
