Project Duration: 05 Months Contract with Possible Extension

Job Description:
The nature of the work is focused on consumer insights, assortment planning, Go to Market, and product management activities.
Acts as an expert in building Consumer Right Assortments for assigned category & location
Briefs the product engine on the needs of the consumer for both the category/geography and upcoming trends
May work across the product engines to ensure that product is being created with the retail end in mind
Edits the product line for assigned location and category using both directed assortment and selecting the line outside of the global core product with a goal of meeting revenue targets
Builds directed assortments that supports category vision, working with geographies with retail end in mind

Education:
Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and minimum of 10 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 7 yrs; Masters + 8 yrs; Associates degree + 10 yrs; High School + 11 yrs.

Must Have:
10+ YOE with a retail or merchandising background at a buyer or director level
Driving points of view
Experience with assortment and product line plan software
Experience working with highly cross functional teams

Nice to Have:
Experience with global merchandising
An apparel and footwear background

Team:
Women's globe merch, team of two, working with global cross functional partners. Geo connects in North America, China, and western + eastern Europe.

Notes:
The team is looking for a Sr. Director Category Merchandiser with experience in retail or global merchandising. This role will assist with driving the vision for women's converse. This is covering for an FTE’s parental leave.
