Job Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst – Project Systems
Location: Richmond, VA
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 1 week onsite / 1 week remote
Role Overview:
This is a contract position focused on supporting SAP Financial and Project Systems modules, particularly in accounting and finance functions. The role involves handling project and maintenance activities for both capital and O&M projects, including requirements gathering, functional specs writing, test planning, and implementation support.
You will align technology solutions with business strategies, collaborate across teams, and serve as a mentor to less experienced analysts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support SAP Financial and Project Systems (PS) and Commercial Project Management (CPM) modules
- Gather/document business requirements; write functional development specs
- Execute unit, regression, and comprehensive testing plans
- Support enhancement requests and custom development efforts
- Provide second- and third-level support for IT Help Line tickets
- Collaborate with IT and business units to ensure solution alignment
- Lead or support capital and O&M projects across multiple client areas
- Contribute to change management and continuous improvement efforts
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Experience:
- 5+ years as a business/functional analyst
- 5+ years in SAP Financial and Project Systems (PS) modules, including configuration/customization
- Experience with SAP Commercial Project Management (CPM)
- Deep understanding of finance and accounting processes
- Skilled in requirements gathering, process mapping, testing, and documentation
- Experience supporting multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred Certifications:
- SAP Certification in Project Systems and/or CPM (preferred but not required)
Preferred Industry Background:
- Utilities or Energy sectors
