Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant – OBGYN
Department: Obstetrics and Gynecology
Location: New York, NY
Contract Duration: 60 Days
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday (No weekends)
Rotational shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Must be available for all shifts (no shift selection allowed)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week (7.5 hours/day)
Hourly rate: $21/hr. on W2
Role Overview:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supports physicians in delivering clinical, technical, administrative, and front-desk services, primarily within an OBGYN setting. This role ensures high-quality patient care, efficient office operations, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical & Technical Duties:
- Perform EKGs, lab testing, pulmonary function tests (PFTs), audiometry as ordered
- Take patient vital signs, medical/medication/allergy history, height, and weight
- Perform CLIA-regulated lab procedures and quality control checks
- Maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms and clinical areas
- Document treatments, test results, patient calls, and other required logs
- Greeting patients and visitors courteously
- Register and schedule patients using current systems
- Process HMO referrals, retrieve/file reports, and update patient information
- Handle daily ledger sheets and maintain accountability for cash box
- Answer phones professionally, take accurate messages, and relay emergencies
- Provide discharge instructions per physician direction
- Notify patients of test results following physician review
- Maintain respectful and professional interactions with patients, families, and staff
- Ensure personalized and prompt attention to all patients and visitors
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- National CMA Certification (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- OBGYN experience (Required)
- Minimum two (2) years of medical assistant experience or formal MA certification from an accredited program
- Strong interpersonal and phone communication skills
- Proficiency in data entry and patient registration systems
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting
- Flexibility and adaptability to shift changes and practice needs
