Client Healthineers Company, Endovascular Robotics (EVR) division, is a global technology leader in robotic-assisted vascular interventions. The company's CorPath system is the first FDA-cleared medical device to bring robotic-assisted precision to neurovascular, percutaneous coronary and peripheral interventions. EVR is advancing the field of interventional medicine with robotics through improvements to procedural control, precision, and workflow.
Position Summary:
The Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer will be a part of the R&D organization and an important contributor to the realization of the next generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare. You will be a highly visible technical resource working on development of complex electro-mechanical assemblies. There will be direct involvement from prototype to verification builds and testing within a regulated medical device development environment. This role is suited for a R&D engineer with experience in developing electromechanical fixtures, authoring documentations, establish verification tests, and assist with electromechanical issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
Support identification of, specification creation for, development and characterization of manufacturing in-line test and build fixtures
Identify improvement points in electromechanical assembly build process
Develop electromechanical fixtures to support development of complex medical robotics system
Assist in specifying firmware and software development requirements for fixtures
Author relevant documents related to fixture designs and development process improvements
Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and management processes throughout
Support a variety of multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and Products
Help with the vendor communications and procurement issues
Manage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Qualifications:
8+ years work experience in complex electromechanical system R&D environment
Bachelor s and/or Masters degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering or a close field is required
Experience in heavily-regulated industries such as medical device or aerospace is required
Must have hands-on experience in design, assembly and testing of electro-mechanical systems
Knowledge of industry best practices for development of complex electromechanical systems
Familiarity with ASME V&V (Verification & Validation) 40 a plus
Previous experience in design transfer/new product introduction desired
Demonstrated CAD proficiency highly desired. Solidworks preferred.
Experience with statistical tools and software such as Minitab is desired
Experience using, modifying, and programing in MATLAB Simulink or LabView highly desired
Experience developing firmware/software code/applications is highly desired
Must have experience in cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership
Must have experience in project management including task timeline estimation and work breakdown structures
Able to execute assigned projects and duties with minimal supervision
Outstanding documentation and communication skills required
Proficiency in using MS Office required
