Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)
Location: Cape Coral, FL
Shift/Time Zone: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM, with rotational Saturdays (6:00 AM – 10:00 AM every 3rd Saturday)
Duration: 4 months +, temp to hire
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Position Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the company and plays a critical role in the patient experience. The PSR I is responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing those specimens for lab testing. This individual ensures a safe, professional, and patient-focused environment by following all established procedures and maintaining strict confidentiality and accuracy.
This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency in specimen collection and processing.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen collection duties accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Create a welcoming and trustworthy environment for patients while explaining procedures and collecting specimens.

Collect both forensic and clinical specimens following established safety protocols and standards.

Prepare and label specimens for lab testing.

Maintain all required records and documentation.

Ensure cleanliness, safety, and professionalism at all times.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image of the company to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.

Maintain flexibility with scheduling needs, including availability for weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call assignments.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence skills.
Qualifications:

Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
Experience:
-
-
-
Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required
-
1+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred
-
Experience in pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy preferred
-
Customer service experience in a retail or service setting preferred

Keyboard/data entry experience required

Skills and Attributes:

Strong phlebotomy skills, including with pediatric and geriatric patients

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Dependable, punctual, and committed to scheduled shifts

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Additional Requirements:

Candidates must list their home city and commute time to the job site on their resume.

Candidates must reside within 20–25 minutes of the Cape Coral location.

Reliable transportation required (bus, rideshare, or Uber is not acceptable).
