Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant 2 (MA2) serves as the first point of patient contact, performing both clinical and administrative duties in an outpatient care setting. The MA2 gathers patient information, provides direct patient care within their certification scope, and supports Physicians and Nurses while ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient experiences.

Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant 2 (MA2) serves as the first point of patient contact, performing both clinical and administrative duties in an outpatient care setting. The MA2 gathers patient information, provides direct patient care within their certification scope, and supports Physicians and Nurses while ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Take vital signs and document in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Discuss symptoms with patients and collect relevant health information.
- Perform diagnostic tests and collect specimens, including drawing blood.
- Give injections as authorized by certification.
- Sterilize and clean equipment and maintain examination rooms.
- Deliver direct patient care in compliance with state licensure and scope of practice.
- Input patient information into EMR and other systems.
- Perform moderate-level administrative/operational tasks and computations.
- Follow standard policies, procedures, and protocols with some discretion for prioritization.
- Participate in TB screening program as required.
- Work closely with Physicians, Nurses, and other care team members.
- Maintain professionalism in patient interactions.
- Contribute to team workflow and support organizational goals.
Required Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience in “back-office” direct patient care.
- Applicable state licensure (RMA/CMA).
- Current CPR certification.
- High School Diploma.
- Less than 2 years of professional leadership experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced/high-volume environment.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Outlook.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Passion for improving patient experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish helpful).
- Hands-on phlebotomy experience.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Familiarity with HEDIS.
- Active Medical Assistant Certification/Registration from AAMA, NHA, ARMA, or AMT.
- Rad tech license (AART).
Notes:
- Patient-facing role with some administrative responsibilities.
- Works under minimal supervision but within defined quality standards and policies.
