Auxiliary Operator
Schedule:
- Rotating schedule expected once training is complete; details will be discussed during interviews.
- Contractor personnel will follow the Universitys designated schedule: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM (Day) and 7:00 PM 7:00 AM (Night).
- The Company operates 24/7/365 using four shifts (A, B, C, D) to ensure continuous coverage.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Operations Shift Supervisor, the Auxiliary Operator operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs instrumentation, mechanical, and electrical equipment associated with the power plant. This role supports the safe start-up, operation, and shutdown of plant equipment from outside the control room while strictly adhering to all safety and environmental regulations to protect employees and the public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of the power plant, auxiliaries, and balance of plant systems from outside the control room.
- Perform start-up, operation, and shutdown of equipment and systems in accordance with approved procedures, technical manuals, and instructions from the Control Room Operator.
- Monitor and record operating parameters, making adjustments as necessary to maintain safe and efficient operation.
- Support Control Room Operators by providing updates on plant operations, unusual conditions, and equipment issues.
- Operate and maintain plant equipment locally via PLC panel interfaces.
- Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to record data in alignment with facility maintenance protocols.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of power plant operations and safe operation/maintenance practices.
- Mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment expertise.
- Ability to read and follow company programs, policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Knowledge of equipment isolation and tagging procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, reach, climb, stoop, and lift up to 75 pounds.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of industry experience.
