Pre-Analytical Assistant I
Job Title: Pre-Analytical Assistant I / Lab Assistant
Duration: Miramar, FL
Location: 12 months
Shift: 10pm-630am with rotational saturdays
Overview:
The Pre-Analytical Assistant I supports the Technical Operations Department by performing specimen handling, sorting, and processing tasks with accuracy and efficiency. This role requires strong organizational skills, flexibility, and attention to compliance in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Sort, rack, centrifuge, aliquot, store, and deliver specimens to the laboratory.

Operate specimen sorters (archive mode) as trained.

Verify specimen types and quantities meet test requirements.

Identify and resolve specimen issues or escalate as needed.

Follow compliance regulations and update documentation clearly and accurately.

Work collaboratively in a team environment and support departmental goals.

Maintain a clean, safe workspace following 5S and biohazard safety standards.

Adapt to changing processes and staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.

Basic data entry skills and medical terminology knowledge preferred.

Ability to work in a busy, repetitive production environment.

Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).

Ability to sit, stand, walk for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and maneuver carts/racks.

Reliable transportation and punctuality required; excessive absenteeism/tardiness is grounds for termination.

Willingness to wear required protective gear in the lab environment.

Flexibility in scheduling and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
Preferred:
-
Medical or lab experience.
-
Familiarity with mainframe computer systems.
-
Previous production environment experience.
