Job Summary:
The Route Service Representative (RSR) is the face of Client to the public and our customers, acting as an Ambassador for the company. This role is responsible for daily route operations, including properly tracking, sorting, storing, and transporting patient specimens and materials such as supplies and patient results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for compliance with all processes including, but not limited to:
- Timekeeping, attendance, and punctuality.
- Vehicle safety and cleanliness.
- Safety and OSHA requirements.
- Proper use of handheld/scanning devices.
- Proper handling and storage of all samples from client office to drop-off point.
- Proper packing of specimens for shipment.
- End-of-day vehicle checks.
- Dress code and code of conduct.
- All Company/Regional/Logistics policies and procedures.
- Safely and timely transport specimens, supplies, reports, equipment, and materials to appropriate destinations.
- Operate company vehicle safely; maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ensure all route tools are ready at the start of the route (scanner, logs, bag, coolers for thermal storage, dry ice, cell phone, keys, door hangers, observation reports, etc.).
- Follow scheduled route while accommodating will-call stops and special pickups.
- Maintain specimen integrity during transport, using appropriate thermal storage and transport procedures.
- Follow all scan/documentation protocols, especially for tissue, irreplaceable, and frozen specimens.
- Leave "Door Hanger" for will-call or daily clients with no specimens available at scheduled pickup and notify Supervisor or Team Leader for follow-up.
- Communicate with Dispatch before leaving an area to ensure all will-calls are complete.
- Keep route information, sequencing, and client notes current.
- Maintain punctuality for meetings and training sessions.
- Complete all required training in a timely manner.
- Properly care for and maintain company equipment (scanner, phone, vehicle, etc.) and report deficiencies.
- Collect and relay client satisfaction feedback to Logistics Management.

Job Qualifications:
Required Work Experience:
- Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 1 year of driving experience.
- Motor Vehicle Record must show no more than three moving violations in the last 36 months.
- 1 year of experience in customer service, logistics, or delivery-related jobs preferred.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Position requires travel.
- Frequent use of phone and handheld device.
- Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and driving.
- Fine hand dexterity and steadiness.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (occasionally up to 40 lbs).
- Ability to carry up to 15 lbs for several minutes at a time.
- Effective English communication with clients, supervisors, and peers.
- Vision for detail and low-light scenarios.
- Physical movements including balancing, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, and twisting.
