Phlebotomist I - 1st Shift
Job Location: New Paltz NY
Job Duration: 3+ Months (Possible extension)
Shift: Mon – Fri 07:00 AM – 11:00 PM Atl Sat rot 8AM -12PM
Pay Range - $21/hr on W2
Overview:
The PSR I is the face of the company for patients seeking routine health tests or important diagnostic information. This role involves skillfully drawing blood samples and preparing them for laboratory testing while maintaining a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment. The PSR I ensures patient trust by clearly explaining procedures and performing collections accurately and compassionately. The role also requires adherence to confidentiality, accuracy standards, and company Leadership Behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection:

Draw high-quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations.

Explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort, trust, and understanding.

Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
Operational Duties:

Perform daily tasks accurately and on schedule under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain required documentation, records, and specimen integrity.

Prepare specimens for lab testing according to protocols.

Uphold patient confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Promote a positive and professional image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.

Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal on-site supervision.
Job Requirements:

Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Ability to work independently.

Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.

Keyboard/data entry proficiency.
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Work Experience:
-
Minimum 6 months phlebotomy or related experience required.
