Pre-Analytical Assistant I - 3rd Shift

Shift: Mon–Fri, Rotational Saturdays | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

The Pre-Analytical Assistant I provides essential support within the Technical Operations Department, ensuring accurate specimen handling, processing, and compliance with laboratory standards. This role requires attention to detail, adaptability, and commitment to quality in a high-volume production environment.

• Perform manual functions including sorting, racking, centrifugation, aliquoting, and specimen storage.
• Verify specimen types, quantities, and compliance with test requirements.
• Ensure accurate labeling, handling, and timely delivery of specimens to the laboratory.
• Maintain proper documentation and meet quality and production standards within established timelines.
• Identify and resolve issues related to specimen integrity or missing information.
• Operate within compliance regulations and adapt to changes in test ordering requirements.
• Support department goals by working weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to 5S workplace standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members and demonstrate flexibility in assignments.

• High School Diploma or GED required; medical background and terminology preferred.
• Basic data entry and organizational skills; familiarity with mainframe systems a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., maneuver carts/racks, and work in a biohazard environment.
• Strong English communication skills (spoken and written); bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
• Must adhere to attendance guidelines and maintain punctuality.
