Job Title: Phlebotomist II – Float
Location: Delray Beach, FL
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift:
- Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Weekends (Saturday & Sunday): 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Job Summary
The Phlebotomist II – Float (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care, high-quality specimen collection, and accurate sample preparation. This role requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to create an atmosphere of trust with every patient interaction. The Phlebotomist II must demonstrate leadership behaviors, maintain confidentiality, and deliver process excellence while working across multiple locations based on business needs.
Floaters are required to travel between multiple sites, arrive on time to the assigned location each day, and maintain a clean driving record. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between sites (not from home).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily operational tasks accurately, safely, and on time under supervision of the area supervisor.
- Collect quality blood specimens (forensic & clinical) using established procedures and maintaining patient comfort.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing in compliance with all guidelines.
- Verify patient identification, demographics, and post-collection initials/signature to ensure proper labeling.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and logs in accordance with company standards.
- Create a positive and professional environment for patients, clients, and coworkers.
- Provide superior customer service while maintaining confidentiality and patient satisfaction.
- Travel to multiple locations and adapt to varying workflows based on staffing needs.
- Follow all company policies including dress code, safety procedures, and operational standards.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with accuracy and efficiency.
- Communicate clearly and transparently with patients, peers, and supervisors.
- Embrace and adjust to process changes as required.
Job Requirements
- Ability to produce high-quality, errorfree work in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong independent work capability with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collection.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and oncall as needed.
- Reliable personal transportation (Ride-share, bus, Uber do not qualify).
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel to multiple sites with minimal notice.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume environment.
- Keyboarding/data entry proficiency.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED
- Medical assistant or paramedic training – Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification – Preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA)
Work Experience
- 1–3 years REQUIRED as a phlebotomist, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- 2 years preferred in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Strongly preferred: customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
Additional Details
- Must arrive on time and work full scheduled shift; excessive tardiness/absenteeism will result in termination.
- Mileage reimbursement eligible between assigned sites only.
- Training location may vary based on trainer availability.
- Exceptional customer service skills required.
