Location: Kingsport, TN 37660
Duration: 04+ months to Start (Possible extension)

Shift: Varies based on staffing needs – must be flexible, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Work Environment: Patient Service Center / In-Office Phlebotomy (as assigned)
Training: Locations may vary based on trainer availability
 
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company, drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. The PSR II explains procedures, builds patient trust, and performs all tasks in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. Assigned locations may include doctors’ offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily tasks under area supervisor’s direction, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Create a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients
  • Collect and process both clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures
  • Verify patient demographic data and ensure tube labeling in the presence of patients
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Represent the organization positively to patients, clients, and the public
  • Demonstrate superior customer service and leadership behaviors
  • Travel between sites as needed with minimal notice
 
Requirements:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Medical training (e.g., Medical Assistant or Paramedic) (Preferred)
  • Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)
Experience:
  • 3 years of phlebotomy experience (Required), including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred)
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service setting (Preferred)
  • Data entry/keyboard skills and strong processing skills
Skills & Attributes:
  • Excellent pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commitment to company policies and safety practices
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Reliable transportation (bus/Uber/rideshare not accepted); must be punctual and dependable
 
Additional Details:
  • Must list home city and commute time on resume (Candidates must live within 1 hour of the site)
  • Tardiness or excessive absenteeism will result in termination
  • Rate is determined based on direct experience as listed on the resume (overlapping roles not double-counted)
