Phlebotomist I
Job Location: Bourbonnais IL
Duration: 3 months of Contract with (temp-to-hire)
Shift: Mon, Wed-Fri 7-130p, and every Saturday from 7-11a.
Pay: $24/hr on W2
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of our company, representing trust and professionalism to patients. This role involves collecting quality blood specimens for laboratory analysis while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality. The PSR I follows established protocols and provides exceptional customer service, helping patients feel confident and informed throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:
-
Greet patients and verify identity.

Explain procedures and provide reassurance during specimen collection.

Demonstrate a professional, positive attitude and maintain patient confidentiality.

Specimen Collection & Processing:
-
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws (including pediatric and geriatric patients) with accuracy and skill.

Prepare and label specimens according to established protocols.

Ensure specimens are stored and transported properly for lab testing.

Daily Operations:

Complete tasks on time and accurately under supervisor direction.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Handle patient records and documentation with precision and confidentiality.

Team Contribution:

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Remain flexible and available for scheduling needs including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Job Requirements:
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)
-
Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, and WA)
Experience:
-
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (REQUIRED)
-
1+ year of phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
-
Customer service experience in retail or service industry (Preferred)

Strong keyboard and data entry skills (Required)
